Exkursionsbericht Bibliothek des Archäologischen Museums Hamburg und des Stadtmuseums Harburg

Abstract

Die Bibliothek des Archäologischen Museums und der Stadt Harburg ist mit 60.000 Bänden eine der größten auf ihrem Gebiet. Sie ist eine reine Präsenzbibliothek und befindet sich im Zentrum von Harburg. Hier werden die Publikationen fast zur Gänze als Magazinbibliothek aufgestellt und von einer einzigen Person betreut. Im Rahmen des Kurses „Buch- und Bibliotheksgeschichte“ haben wir die Bibliothek besucht und durften gemeinsam mit der Bibliothekarin ein wenig hinter die Kulissen schauen.

The library of the Archaeological Museum and the City of Harburg is with 60,000 books one of the largest in its field. It is a reference library and is located in the center of Harburg. Here the publications are set up almost purely as a magazine library and looked after by a single person. As part of the “Book and Library History” course, we visited the library and were able to take a look behind the scenes with the librarian.
