Demonetarisierung von YouTube-Videos : Analysen von Metadaten und User-Kommentaren

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to research the demonetization of YouTube videos. The motive of YouTube and the consequences for video publishers are subjects of interest. Metadata and user comments were analyzed, both from monetized and from demonetized videos. The comparison of the user feedback from these two kinds of videos takes the central part in this thesis. Any discrepancies found in the feedback were evaluated to determine if demonetized videos lead to a different feedback. For collecting the metadata and the comments the YouTube Data API and the programming language R were used. For analyzing them numeric methods were used for the metadata and a sentiment analysis was used for the comments.

Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist, die Demonetarisierung von YouTube-Videos zu untersuchen. Es geht dabei um die Motivation von YouTube und die Folgen für Publizierende. Es werden Metadaten und User-Kommentare von monetarisierten und demonetarisierten Videos auf Unterschiede untersucht. Es soll dabei herausgefunden werden, ob demonetarisierte Videos zu anderem Zuschauerfeedback führen und wie etwaige Unterschiede zu bewerten sind. Zur Beschaffung der Metadaten und der Kommentare dient die YouTube Data API und die Programmiersprache R. Die Metadaten werden numerisch und die Kommentare mit Hilfe einer Sentiment-Analyse ausgewertet.
