Abstract:

In this work, an optimization model for a modern heating system is developed. It represents the basis for a schedule operation at the Bergedorf Technology Center. The consequences of integrating a heat pump into the existing heating system were investigated. For the model development, a mixed-integer nonlinear optimization was used. An emission weighting factor was developed for the district of Bergedorf in order to be able to orient the operation of the heat generators to electricity surpluses and shortages. A check of the plausibility of individual components of the program was carried out and could be assessed as plausible for the most part. The annual evaluation of two variants of the optimization model showed a reduction in CO2-emissions through the integration of the heat pump. In addition, a significant shift in the emission sources could be determined. It is recommended to operate the CHP at full load during electricity shortage. When there is a surplus of electricity, the use of the heat pump is lower in emissions. By achieving an annual coefficient of performance of the heat pump of 7.9, the coverage of the heat demand could be reduced up to 39%, as well as operating hours and operating starts of the CHP unit could be reduced by half. Occurred simulation aborts require further investigation. Integration of the heat pump into the existing system needs to be verified in practice. The implementation of an optimized schedule at the technology center is waiting to be realized.
