The question of how to make content on a public LED wall particularly attractive so that it is noticed and viewed arises anew for every LED wall. In this work, five different types of content are examined on the LED wall in the entrance area of the Neubau at the media campus of HAW Hamburg using eye tracking technology. This is to find out which areas of the wall and which content are particularly attentiongrabbing. First, the space containing the LED wall is examined with the wall switched off in order to find the most interesting viewing angles. Brightness, text, blur and complex videos on the wall are then examined. The evaluation of the eye tracking data showed that in all examinations the subjects looked along a diagonal that runs from the bottom center to the top right of the LED wall. This could speak for positioning content along these diagonals. Furthermore, it was found that very bright areas, areas with a lot of contrast, edges and areas that differ very significantly from others are the most interesting for viewers. This adds to existing literature. Based on these findings, recommendations can be made as to what should be placed where and how on this LED wall.

In dieser Arbeit werden fünf verschiedene Arten von Inhalten auf der LED-Wand im Eingangsbereich des Neubaus auf dem Mediencampus der HAW Hamburg mittels Eyetracking-Technologie untersucht, um herauszufinden, welche Bereiche der Wand und welche Inhalte besonders aufmerksamkeitserregend sind. Dabei wird zunächst die Räumlichkeit bei der ausgeschalteten LED-Wand untersucht, um die interessantesten Blickwinkel zu finden. Daraufhin werden Helligkeiten, Text, Unschärfe und komplexe Videos auf der Wand untersucht. Bei den Auswertungen der Eyetracking-Daten zeigte sich, dass die Proband:innen in allen Untersuchungen an einer Diagonalen, die von unten mittig bis oben rechts über die LED-Wand verläuft, entlangblickten. Dies könnte für die Positionierung von Inhalten entlang dieser Diagonalen sprechen. Weiterhin wurde erkannt, dass sehr helle Bereiche, Bereiche mit viel Kontrast, Kanten und Bereiche, die sich sehr deutlich von anderen unterscheiden für Betrachter:innen am interessantesten sind. Anhand dieser Erkenntnisse können Empfehlungen ausgesprochen werden, welche Inhalte wo und in welcher Art und Weise auf der LED-Wand platziert werden sollten. |
