Community Health als postmigrantische Perspektive auf Migration und Gesundheit

Abstract

Dieser Artikel beschreibt eine postmigrantische Perspektive auf migrationsbezogene Gesundheitsaspekte aus einer Community-Health-Perspektive. Weg von der bisherigen Fokussierung auf vermeintliche Defizite von Migrant*innen in Bezug auf ihre relativ schlechten Gesundheitsergebnisse schlägt dieser Beitrag eine analytische Perspektive vor, die mit Blick auf Migration und Gesundheit die Auswirkungen von Grenzregimen, unterschiedlichen Formen der Exklusion und von Rassismus in den Fokus rückt. Mit Bezug zu diesem Gesundheits-Gap plädiert dieser Artikel für einen Paradigmenwechsel und eine postmigrantische Community Health-Perspektive auf Migrationskontexte. Der Artikel endet mit Empfehlungen zur Implementierung dieser Perspektive auf Migration und Gesundheit wie Forschungen zu den Verbindungen zwischen Rassismus und Gesundheit sowie die Einführung von Anti-Diskriminierungs-Maßnahmen und Diversity-Sensibilisierungstrainings in die Lehrpläne der medizinischen und gesundheitsbezogenen Hochschulen und Institutionen.

This article presents a post migrant perspective on migration related health issues from a Community Health perspective. Moving away from a particularist focus on migrants’ alleged deficits with regard to their often lower health outcomes the article promotes to shift to an analytical frame that includes the impact of border regimes, different forms of exclusion and racism. Against this background, the article promotes the need for a paradigm change towards a new postmigrant community health related focus on migration. It concludes with recommendations for the implementation of this undertaking such as increasing research on the interlinkages between racism and health and of anti-discriminative action and diversity-awareness training in the curricula of medical and health related schools and institutions and so on.
