Providing universal health coverage for all citizens is a top priority for many European and other high-income countries. However, many of them face significant challenges to do so. Medical deserts therefore still constitute a growing concern that needs to be addressed. As contributing factors to medical areas can vary across different countries, a national perspective when addressing the issue of it is elementary. This work provides insight into factors and approaches relevant to medical deserts in Germany.en
