Frequent Cabin Air Contamination Events (CACEs) show, there is a real problem: Engines leak oil by design and oil can be traced on its way from the engine into the cabin. In addition, there is a legal problem. Certification rules are not followed. Is our democracy corrupted? The technical solution for new aircraft: Apply a bleed-free architecture with direct air intakes and dedicated compressors. The short term partial technical solution: Apply carbon filters a) in the duct to the cabin and b) attached to the recirculation filters. Both solutions are suitable for retrofit.en
