Abstract:
The IEEE 802.1 working group has introduced the Asynchronous Traffic Shaper (ATS) and Frame Replication and Elimination for Reliability to Time Sensitive Networking (TSN). Recent findings indicate that combining these mechanisms can lead to unbounded latency in TSN. This demonstration illustrates how unbounded latencies occur and proposes to configure ATS by simple rules to maintain latency bounds. The effects are visualized in a simulation.
