Titel: Development of analysis software for user studies based on iMotions data

Zusammenfassung:
Facial Emotion Recognition (FER) has become a standard component of multimodal usability research, yet platforms such as iMotions that excel at data acquisition provide only limited support for subsequent statistical analysis. Researchers are typically forced to write custom analysis scripts for each new experimental design, contributing to non-reproducible workflows and questionable research practices in Human-Computer Interaction. This thesis presents a Python-based analysis tool that closes this gap by directly integrating iMotions CSV exports. The system lets researchers configure between-subjects and withinsubjects study designs through a Tkinter interface, automatically selects an appropriate parametric or non-parametric statistical test based on a Shapiro-Wilk normality check, and renders results in an interactive dashboard covering dimensional emotions, categorical emotions, and time-course visualizations.
