| dc.description.abstract | Rapid urbanization and increasing motorized mobility create interrelated challenges concerning density, traffic safety, accessibility, and spatial sustainability. This study examines how digital data generated by Türkiye’s Traffic Safety Analysis Platform (TSAP) and Traffic Density Analysis Platform (TDAP) can be integrated into sustainable spatial planning decisions. The research adopts a qualitative case-study approach consisting of three stages: a structured review of the platforms, an analysis of their visual outputs at different planning scales, and a data–spatial problem–decision analysis. The findings show that TSAP provides data on accident severity, type, location, time, and high-risk areas, whereas TDAP provides segment-based information on speed, density, queues, peak hours, and travel time. When evaluated together, these datasets can support decisions concerning safety-prioritized corridors, speed management, pedestrian continuity, access management, transfer areas, logistics conflicts, and the equitable distribution of transportation investments. The study proposes a framework for transforming digital traffic data into traceable spatial planning decisions and intervention priorities. | en |
