The presentation looks at two different aspects of passenger aircraft flight: a) Cabin Air Contamination Events (CACE) and b) Contrails. Both topics are connected: a) CACE concern the environment inside the aircraft cabin and cockpit. b) Contrails deal with the outside environment and can contribute to global warming. Pilots can manage both. a) Pilots can mitigate the effect of a CACE by descending to 10000 ft, venting the cabin with outside air. b) Pilots can adjust the flight level to avoid a potentially warming contrail and as such to mitigate the global warming effect of the flight. The presentation looks at both topics and provides information to help pilots to manage the situations.en
