Die Nutzung der Europeana an deutschen Hochschulen – Wird die europäische Online-Bibliothek bei den Konzepten zur Vermittlung vonInformationskompetenz an deutschen Hochschulen eingebunden undweiterempfohlen?

Abstract

Die Europeana wird von Hochschulbibliothekaren größtenteils nicht empfohlen. Zu diesem Ergebnis ist die Umfrage der vorliegenden Arbeit gekommen. Auch der Bekanntheitsgrad der Europeana ist nicht sehr hoch, nur etwa die Hälfte der Befragten kennt Europeana. Gleichzeitig ist aber das Bedürfnis nach mehr Informationen über Europeana und Schulungsmöglichkeiten sehr hoch, die Zufriedenheit mit Europeana selber ist aber eher verhalten, gleichwohl wird Europeana als ein sinnvolles Projekt erachtet, dass fortgeführt werden sollte. Außerdem wird die Entwicklungsgeschichte von Europeana beschrieben, und die statistischen Werte zur Contententwicklung, Benutzung und Contentverteilung werden aufgeführt.

Europeana is not being suggested by most librarians of Universities. That is the conclusion of this work. As well is Europeana not very well-known, more than half of the participants of the questionnaire did not know, what Europeana is. But the librarians wish to know more about Europeana, they would like to participate in some skill enhancements referring Europeana, too. Those who know Europeana are not overall pleased with Europeana. However, many of the librarians think that Europeana is a project which should be continued. The work also describes the history of Europeana, and shows the statistical data of content changes, use and content spreading.
