Bio-Stadt Hamburg – Möglichkeiten für eine Erhöhung des Anteils an Bio-Lebensmitteln in öffentlichen Kindertageseinrichtungen

Abstract

Im Rahmen des Beitritts zum Bio-Städte-Netzwerk hat sich Hamburg die regionale Wirt-schaftsförderung und die Stärkung der Bio-Branche zum Ziel gesetzt. Durch eine Festle-gung von prozentualen Bio-Anteilen in der Verpflegung öffentlicher Einrichtungen könnte die Nachfrage nach bioregionalen Produkten ansteigen. Bereits die Festlegung eines Bio-Anteils in der Mittagsverpflegung in Hamburger Kitas könnte sich positiv auf die Nachfra-ge nach bioregionalen Lebensmitteln auswirken. Der derzeitige Lebensmittelbedarf für die Kitas konnte hier nur grob erfasst werden. Es zeigt sich aber, dass schon jetzt ein Groß-teil des möglichen Bedarfes aus regionalen Bio-Betrieben geliefert werden könnte. Es wird aber auch ersichtlich, dass die regionale Verfügbarkeit einiger Produkte sehr limitiert ist. Um exakte Daten zu den benötigten Lebensmittelmengen für die öffentlichen Kitas in Hamburg und reale Bio-Anbauflächen in der Region zu erhalten, bedarf es weiterer und umfangreicherer Erhebungen.

Already the setting of an or-ganic-share in the lunch in Hamburg's kindergartens could have a positive effect on the demand for organic-regional food. It can only be roughly estimated as the current needs might be. However, it is clear that a large part of the food requirements could already be supplied by regional organic farms. Also apparent is that, for certain products, regional availability is very limited. In order to obtain exact data on the necessary food supplies for the public kindergartens in Hamburg and real organic-cultivation areas in the region, fur-ther and more extensive surveys are needed.
