Blickpunkt Soziale Arbeit – Eine kritische Betrachtung am Beispiel der Gentrifizierung in Wilhelmsburg

Abstract

Im Zusammenhang der Gentrifizierung im Stadtteil Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg wird untersucht, welchen Stellenwert die Soziale Arbeit in der derzeitigen Stadt(teil-)entwicklung einnimmt. Unter Berücksichtigung der historisch gewachsenen Funktion im Stadtteil sind Widersprüche in Theorie und Praxis bezogen auf ihre Rolle auszumachen. Diese Widersprüche werden im Rahmen der Arbeit aufgedeckt und hinsichtlich einer Profilierung Sozialer Arbeit in der Stadtentwicklung greifbar gemacht. Die Effekte der Gentrifizierung stellen eine aktuelle und brisante Herausforderung dar, derer sich die Soziale Arbeit zukünftig annehmen sollte. Im Ergebnis muss die Soziale Arbeit auf Grund ihres Kompetenzprofils konstitutiv in der Strategiediskussion um Stadtentwicklung vertreten sein, um darin das Soziale als dauerhaften Bestandteil zu sichern.

In connection with the gentrification in the district of Hamburg -Wilhelmsburg will be examined regarding the value of social work and its current urban development. In consideration of the districts grown historic functions there are discrepancies between its role of theory and praxis. These discrepancies are made obvious in context of this work regarding the profiling of social work within urban development. The effects of gentrification are a huge challenge nowadays that the social work needs to take care of in near future. Resulting in the social works competence profile it needs to participate constructively in discussions about urban development in order to establish the social aspect as persistent part of it.
