This thesis describes the development of a vehicle control system for an autonomous Formula Student vehicle. The problem is first described in detail and several control techniques commonly used in autonomous vehicles are examined. The requirements for the vehicle control system are defined and several different concepts for longitudinal and a lateral vehicle control are proposed and compared.
